This week we had our biggest event of the year in Greenwood, South Carolina. It was a 4 day event and the biggest purse on the schedule. It is imperative to play well this week to count towards the money list! Last minute, Travis decided to come up and caddie for me. Fortunately his boss allows him to come caddie and I always play my best with him on the bag. He knows my game the best and really helps me stay in the moment. We had great housing on a lake with some family friends and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you VanEvery’s!!They had a bunch of Legend LPGA players there for a few days and I got to meet a few of them. Dawn Coe-Jones was great to talk to and her son is going to Florida Southern to play golf next year. I enjoyed reminiscing about my years there with her and reassured her that her son will be in great hands there! This course is really pretty and has a fun layout. The greens were quite tricky so it was very important to hit your approach shot on the same quadrant as the hole. I shot 71-72-79-70 to finish tied for 19th. I had way too many 3 putts over the week, especially on Saturday but I just didn’t hit my approach shots in the right spots to give myself easy two putts. On Sunday, I didn’t have a single 3 putt and felt I played much more solid than the first 3 rounds. All of the scores were high on Saturday so I knew the course was just playing tough for everyone. I kept a positive attitude and I’m proud of my comeback Sunday. I want to thank my Uncle Doug, his friend Dave, Stacy and Chad for coming to watch me! I have a great support system! The fans were great here in South Carolina and this event was first class! These two tournaments back to back were some of the best first year events I have played in! Thank you to all of the sponsors and volunteers for such an awesome week!
Tomorrow is the 2nd to last episode of Big Break and there are only 4 of us left!! I’ll be watching in Asheville where my next Symetra tour event is.
